A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the emails sent to nonexistent addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss messages because the other party has an outdated address or has made a spelling mistake. The drawback of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of unsolicited messages, but this problem can be resolved using an anti-spam filtering solution. It is also important to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound emails to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

You will be able to set up a catch-all e-mailbox without any effort if you’ve got a web hosting account with us. The Email Manager tool in our custom-created Hepsia Control Panel is feature-rich, yet very simple to work with, and it will enable you to enable different features, including the catch-all one, with no more than a couple of clicks of the mouse. All the mailboxes that you’ve set up will be shown alphabetically in this section and on the right side of each one you’ll notice a small-size "Catch-all" icon. Clicking on it once will activate this option, clicking it once again will deactivate it. As you can have just one such catch-all mailbox per domain name, our system will notify you if you already have a different mailbox with this option enabled or if you’ve got enabled email forwarding.
