Dot NAME Domains

Introduced in 2001, the Dot NAME universal extension is the sole TLD intended for personal web pages only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other designations people are popular by. At the beginning, only third-level registrations were possible, so if you wanted to register john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already purchased 3rd-level names remained operational.

Through our firm, you can buy your dot NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will have the opportunity to alter the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our firm if you get its EPP transfer key from the current domain service provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been finished. There are no specific terms on who can purchase a dot NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the goal behind its establishment alive, the .NAME Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain, the registration may be challenged.
